This article explains how to create and manage memberships from your dashboard. Memberships define access to exclusive content and are used in combination with membership products that handle pricing and subscriptions.

Purpose of Membership Management

The Memberships section is where you define and control access tiers for your subscribers. It allows you to:

  • Create membership tiers
  • Manage subscriber access rules
  • Organize and update exclusive content
  • Maintain the structure behind your membership offerings

Memberships themselves do not handle payments. They are connected to Membership Site products, which manage billing and subscriptions.

To open membership management:

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Navigate to the Memberships section

You will see the Membership Management interface, where all your membership tiers are listed.

Creating and Editing Memberships

Creating a Membership

To create a new membership:

  1. Click “New Membership”
  2. Enter the required details such as:
    • Membership name
    • Access structure or benefits
  3. Save your changes

This defines the tier that your subscription products will reference.

Editing a Membership

You can update existing memberships at any time. Common updates include:

  • Renaming the membership tier
  • Adjusting benefits or access details
  • Updating structure as your offering evolves

Changes will apply to how content is organized and accessed.

Managing Membership Content

Each membership allows you to control what content subscribers can access. You should:

  • Add content relevant to the membership tier
  • Organize content clearly for ease of use
  • Update content regularly to maintain value

Keeping your content current is essential for retention and long-term subscriber satisfaction.

To properly set up and sell memberships:

  1. Create a membership tier in the Memberships section
  2. Create a Membership Site product in the Products section
  3. Link the product to the membership tier
  4. Publish the product and start accepting subscribers

This separation ensures flexibility between access control and billing.

Best Practices

  • Keep membership tiers clearly defined and easy to understand
  • Regularly update content to maintain subscriber value
  • Align product pricing with the value of your membership
  • Avoid creating unnecessary or overlapping tiers
  • Monitor performance and adjust based on engagement

Effective membership management ensures a scalable and sustainable recurring revenue model.
